Happy #FeistFriday everyone! For those who haven’t met her yet, this is my therapy dog 🐶, Feist!
She is available for animal assisted therapy. Feist reports she is also available for treats 🍭, pets, walks, and snuggling!
She is a great listener (look at those giant ears!!) and she is great with kids. Feist can pick up on the emotions of the room and knows when to give some love.
Do you have an important pet in your life? How do they help you in your mental health? ⬇️
Wise words from Karamo Brown 👑. As much as it can feel like it, life is not a contest.
It’s not about how well you’re doing compared to others- the only person you should compare yourself to today is who you were yesterday!
We shouldn’t be asking ourselves why others appear to be more successful 💰 , healthier, skinnier, prettier, smarter, tougher 💪, or more well liked...
We should be asking ourselves is am I working as hard as I can to be the best person I can be today.
Everyone struggles with making comparisons of themselves to others - it’s part of the way the brain sorts information! But be compassionate to yourself and know you’re not alone. 💕
🚨 WARNING therapist being real ahead..!
If I’m being completely honest, I’ve been off my game the last few weeks. I haven’t been doing nearly enough of the selfcare strategies that I know work- like exercise and my mindfulness practice. I’ve been focusing on work probably a little too much and haven’t been as present, which I know increases my anxiety.
Today I’m renewing a commitment to take care of myself and my mind with the same energy that I take care of others! It’s my duty to make myself and my mental health a priority- especially if i want to be a good therapist to my clients.
Before I start my work day, I’m going to go for a run and use my Headspace app, which I’ve neglected for a few weeks. 😅
Anyone else want to join me on the renewed commitment to self care train? What will you do today to get back on track? ⬇️
