quillan’s story

Hi! I’m Quillan “Q” Caskey-Koldewyn (any, they/them). I began training toward becoming a licensed therapist after I struggled to find a clinician who clearly understood that I needed to build trust slowly, who had the patience to sit with me in silence when I needed time to process, and who believed I had inner knowing that deserved to be heard. I also wanted a therapist who could hold me accountable, while honoring my identities and the past that had led me to their office.

I strive to be that therapist. I have found I work well with other AuDHD/autistic/ADHD clients, clients experiencing dissociation, and clients with a history of repeated childhood trauma. I enjoy working with teens (13+) and adults as they navigate self-worth, trauma recovery, and neurodivergence to better find and understand themselves.

I bring my whole, authentic, and deeply human self into the therapy room. As a white, neurodivergent, queer clinician with lived experience of religious trauma and healing, I aim to offer a space where you can show up as you are—messy, evolving, and worthy of care.

Now for the professional stuff:

I work from a strengths-based, person-centered perspective, integrating parts work, Gestalt theory, and polyvagal-informed strategies. My goal is to help you reconnect with your inner resources, foster curiosity and compassion for yourself, and support you in becoming more of who you already are. I recognize the inherent power dynamics in therapy and work to stay accountable, culturally humble, and continually learning.

I earned my Master’s in Counselor Education with a focus in Clinical Rehabilitation Counseling from Portland State University in 2024, six years after graduating with Bachelor’s degrees in Writing & Rhetoric Studies and Gender Studies in 2018. My education significantly informs how I conceptualize oppression, privilege, and the systems that keep them in motion.

Q is supervised by Molly Dressler, MSW, LCSW.
