eva’s story

Hola, I’m Eva! (She/They)- I’m a QMHP.

I offer therapy for individuals, couples, and families in English or Spanish. So many of us carry wounds that make us feel like we are inherently broken, as if the problem lives deep within us. But I firmly believe that is not the case. These problems did not start with us, but were often shaped by injustices in our environments that can be inherited across generations. In our work, I aim to help people explore these contexts in order to challenge the harmful narratives that we have been told about ourselves, our identities, or our relationships.

Even when I’m working with just one person in therapy, the impact of their closest relationships will be present in the room. Addressing these inter-generational family wounds can create space for healing by restoring a sense of trust and fairness, allowing genuine connection to be possible again.

I recognize the impact that broader forces in our environments, such as racism, economic hardship, and gender roles, have on our lives, but they too often go unnamed. I am committed to making space for conversations about how these forces have shaped expectations that were never fair to begin with, affecting your view of yourself and your relationships.

I bring to our work my life experience navigating multiple cultures as a mixed-race Ecuadorean-Danish immigrant. This experience has taught me how systems can affect a crucial part of well being - our sense of belonging. This is why I am committed to creating a space where your identities and experiences are respected and validated, and where your voice as the expert in your own life is recognized.

In my free time I enjoy going to concerts, watching anime and movies, cooking vegan recipes and spending time with my dog Tofu.

Now for the professional stuff:

I’m completing my Master of Arts in Marriage, Couple, and Family Therapy from Lewis & Clark Graduate School of Education. My training put emphasis in Equity-informed practices, awareness of systemic impacts during assessment and clinical skills in couples and family therapy, as well as group counseling for adults. Additionally, it included knowledge on the physiological and relational dimensions of human sexuality, preparing me to help clients address sexual concerns with an affirming, informed, and non-shaming approach.

In addition to my studies, I have many years of experience working for the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), providing education and resources about mental health to anyone facing mental health challenges and their families. This work deepened my understanding of how mental health impacts entire family systems, and reinforced my commitment to connecting clients with crucial community resources as part of a holistic approach to care.

I am supervised by Emma Crosby, LCSW. I receive frequent supervision, consultation, and guidance from my Clinical Supervisor, Emma Crosby, in treatment planning and the therapeutic process. This means you benefit from two clinicians thinking about your care - bringing more perspectives, more support, and a truly collaborative approach to helping you meet your goals.

QMHPs are intern clinicians in the final stage of their master’s program and have completed all of their coursework. Our QMHPs receive frequent supervision, consultation, and guidance from their Clinical Supervisor in treatment planning and the therapeutic process. This means you benefit from two clinicians thinking about your care - bringing more perspectives, more support, and a truly collaborative approach to helping you meet your goals.
