hanna’s story

Hi! My name is Hanna (she/her/hers).  I’m glad you’re here and taking the next step in your mental health journey. I believe therapy works best when it’s grounded in authentic connection, and I strive to create a space where you feel seen, supported, and empowered.

Before becoming a therapist, I spent many years working in the food service industry as a server, bartender, and manager. These roles taught me how to connect with people from all walks of life and sparked my appreciation for the diverse stories and strengths each person brings with them. Outside of work, I love being outdoors and spending time with friends and loved ones hiking, swimming, camping, or enjoying an afternoon in the park. The Pacific Northwest is the perfect backdrop for all of it, and I’m so glad to call it my home.

I’ve been drawn to mental health work for most of my life. I’ve always been fascinated by the ways our brains and bodies function and how our individual experiences shape who we are. This passion led me to earn a degree in Psychology from California State University, Monterey Bay, followed by a Master’s in Social Work from Portland State University.

My clinical experience includes working as a community-based therapist at Lifeworks NW, where I supported youth and young adults navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, life transitions, and the growing pains of independence. Working in this setting helped me develop a creative, flexible, and collaborative approach to care in order to meet clients where they are. I’ve also worked with youth and families impacted by the foster care system.

I am LGBTQIA+ affirming and committed to providing inclusive, trauma-informed, and strengths-based care. My work is grounded in a client-centered approach, and I draw from a variety of modalities including Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and mindfulness practices. I also have specialized training in Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, and Trauma-Focused CBT.

While much of my experience has been with transition-aged youth, I welcome individuals of all ages and identities. I’m honored to support clients as they explore, grow, and heal.
